In the 911 call, a man reports De Marco walking up to Solano, who police said he began dating in May before breaking up three weeks ago.
After shooting the woman, the deputy shoots himself, the caller said.“Okay, a sheriff?
” the dispatcher asks.“Yeah,” the caller says, adding that De Marco and Solano are lying on the ground near a garage.
As the man on the phone checks on Solano, a faint voice is heard, “please don’t leave,” the woman pleads. Yeni Gonzalez, who identified herself as a friend and co-worker of Solano, said Friday that she appears to be improving after suffering from a punctured lung and liver. Gonzalez adds that De Marco started harassing her friend once the breakup happened last month.
